Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions we get. If you don't see what you're looking for, please reach out to us.

  • How long do I need assistance for?

The type of plastic surgery you have will determine how long you will need postoperative assistance. For example, if you have a facelift, you will need someone to drive you home after the surgery and stay with you for at least the first 24 hours. You may also have drains in place to prevent fluid buildup, and your doctor will give you specific instructions on how to care for them.

In general, however, most people can expect to return to their normal activities within a week or so. Of course, it is important to follow your doctor's instructions and take it easy during the recovery process in order to ensure a successful outcome.

  • How many hours a day will I need for recovery assistance?

The answer to this question will depend on a number of factors, including the type of surgery that you are having, your individual recovery needs, and the resources available to help you during this time.

The first couple of days typically requires between 4-8 hours, with the longest assistance on the first day. However, as a general rule, most patients will need several hours per day for at least 1-2 weeks post-surgery to help them recover, including providing assistance with basic daily tasks like getting dressed, preparing meals, and administering any medications prescribed by their doctor. Some patients may also need more advanced assistance with activities like walking or bathing, which could add several additional hours to their recovery schedule.

Ultimately, your best bet is to consult with your surgeon prior to the surgery so they can give you a more accurate estimate of how much recovery assistance you will need. With the right planning and support in place, however, it is possible to have a full and successful recovery from surgery regardless of how long it takes.

  • How many postoperative treatments will I need?

The number of post-op treatments required after plastic surgery will depend on the procedure that was performed. For example, a facelift will require a different number of treatments than a breast augmentation.

In general and depending on the type of surgery, we recommend anywhere between 10-12 treatments to aid in recovery and sculpt the body properly.

  • When can I shower after surgery?

The specific answer to this question will depend on the type of surgery you have had, as well as the instructions given to you by your surgeon or recovery nurse.

In general, however, most people are able to shower the day after surgery.

It is important to avoid putting any direct pressure on the surgical site, so you may need to take care when washing or drying yourself. You should also avoid using any harsh soaps or cleansers, as these can irritate the skin. If you have any stitches or dressings, be sure to keep them dry and clean. Once you have taken a shower, be sure to pat yourself dry rather than rubbing.

  • How many days should I stay in my hotel or Airbnb?

It is generally recommended that clients stay in their hotel or Airbnb for at least 5-7 days after surgery.

This allows time for the surgical site to heal and for any initial swelling to subside. It is also important to have someone else available to help with activities of daily living, as clients will likely be unable to perform them on their own immediately following surgery. For instance, clients may need help getting in and out of bed, bathing, and using the restroom. Finally, staying in a hotel or Airbnb gives clients the opportunity to rest and recover in a comfortable environment without the distractions and stressors of everyday life.
